Amy was the wedding photographer at Meole Brace Trinity Church & Mytton & Mermaid Hotel, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK for Gareth & Kim’s wedding.
I was so excited for my first wedding of 2013. I left Warrington in thick snow, watching it melt as I drove to Shrewsbury: by the time I arrived there was barely a trace of the white stuff. The Mytton & Mermaid Hotel was host to the wedding reception and also where Kim was getting ready. A short drive to Trinity Church at Meole Brace for the ceremony and an exceptionally warm welcome for me from Phil the vicar got a big thumbs up!
The church has a lovely hall attached to it and all of the guests were treated to hot soup (in mugs) and rolls whilst I used the last bit of light to catch the group shots and some shots of Gareth & Kim. We soon headed back to the Mytton & Mermaid for welcome drinks under blankets on comfy settees and ‘huddling’ around the fire pits before the party headed inside for an evening of food and fun.

All 3 speeches were hilarious.
Using the street lamp only for this one!
Thanks so much for such a fun day. I’m soooo jealous of your honeymoon destination! I’m sure it was fabulous! Amy x
Amy was the wedding photographer at Soulton Hall, Wem, Shrewsbury, UK for Glyn & Ally’s wedding.
Last October I photographed the wedding of Dave & Jo in central Siena. A year on and it was the turn of Jo’s sister Ally who married Glyn at the Church of St. Luke in Weston-under-Redcastle, Shropshire on a beautiful October day. It was absolutely brilliant to catch up with Jo & Ally’s family and friends and to get to know Glyn better too.
The weather really was unbelievable for mid-October and guests made the most of it, drinking their mulled wine on the lawn during the reception. Soulton Hall, just a 5 minute drive from the church, is a beautiful Elizabethan manor house set on a gorgeous country estate in rural Shropshire. I really loved it, in fact, I didn’t want to leave! Take a look:
Beautiful Soulton Hall, Shropshire.
Master of the house.
The bridesmaids didn’t stop laughing all day!
The choir in church ensured that the roof was well and truly raised!
I love this one.
Signed and sealed.
Wonderful autumnal light.
One of my favourites from the day.
Very Important Doggie!
I loved the table plan.
Uncontrollable laughter during the speeches.
I love this wide shot taken during the Best Man’s speech.
Dave & Jo, Frank & Angela – wonderful to see you all again and thanks for the help with the missing keys! Glyn & Ally – you were fab, so easy to photograph and great fun. Hope you had a wonderful time in Sicily! -Amy x
Amy & Andy were the wedding photographers at Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury, Shropshire for Will & Louise’s wedding.
It was great to return to the UK for the wedding of Will & Louise and to catch up with their friends Mark & Vicki, whose wedding we photographed back in July 2007. Will & Louise have been together for 11 years and have 3 gorgeous boys, Charlie, George & Henry. Holy Trinity Church is in Meole Village which is in the older part of Meole Brace – a pretty suburb of Shrewsbury. The church has recently been extended and a Village Hall has been built which is actually attached to the church via a lovely little courtyard; it has been beautifully finished with a barn-like interior that cleverly brings together the ‘old’ of the church with the ‘new’ of a brand-new building.
On with the images:
A real party atmosphere at Mum & Dad’s house as the girls do hair and make-up.
George, Will & Louise’s second son, all ready to carry out his page-boy role.
Louise is Super-Mum! This was taken half an hour before she left the house!
Camera-shy Will ;-)
A lovely moment; as Louise signs the register, Will and his Mum hug in the background.
I’m forever blowing bubbles …

Louise keeps control of the kids!
Lots of laughs during the speeches.
Hope you had a great time in Dubai folks – the first holiday EVER without the kids! Did Henry cry for you for 4 days?! You won’t have to wait long to see the rest of your photographs. I’ll be in touch very soon!
We were booked to shoot Mark & Vicky’s wedding on 7/7/07 a LONG time ago! Since then we must have had almost a dozen other enquiries for this date. Despite the recent down-pours in the UK, the weather was kind and allowed everyone a chance to make the most of the outside areas at the Mytton & Mermaid Hotel near Shrewsbury. A lovely couple, intimate venue, great families & friends, hilarious speeches, evening hog roast… – need I go on? Here are some memories:
Wow! Gorgeous little bridesmaid (& good as gold all day!)
Vicky & Mum with Dad loitering in the background.
He’s gonna break some hearts in future!
Grandma (complete with Pimms) admires Vicky’s wedding ring.
All the boys & girls.
Some creativity with lighting on the happy couple.
That’s it for now. Thanks again folks for having us (& especially for feeding us!) – Have a great honeymoon – we’ll speak to you when you’re back. – AT
