Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Church of Ascension, Warrington & The Midland Hotel, Manchester, UK for the wedding of Stuart & Jenny.
It’s not very often that I get to photograph the weddings of people that I know, not least people that I have known well all of my life. The 28th November was an exception though as Stuart and Jenny were married in Woolston, Warrington followed by a wonderful reception at The Midland Hotel in central Manchester. My parents and Jenny’s parents have been friends for life; Jenny’s Dad was Best Man for my Dad 34 years ago and they are Godparents for each others’ children.
A teeny bit more pressure this time to nail it then! We had to be pretty creative with our light sources as the natural light had almost gone as we arrived at The Midland Hotel at about three thirty. The Midland had just been decorated for Christmas and looked absolutely fantastic with two enormous trees in the lobby.
On with a few tasters:
The little Flower Girl behaved impeccably all day and posed for the camera whenever we went near to her – model material!
My Auntie Kay, Uncle John, Jenny, Eve and Kate. I love this family photograph, hope they do too!
The sun came out for a short time just as Jenny entered the church.
Stuart’s family during the ceremony.
Stuart and Jenny on the steps of The Midland. We used the foyer area quite a lot during the day; there wasn’t a lot of light, but what there was, was interesting.
This is my Mum & Dad! Mum is Jenny’s Godmother.
Back on The Midland steps using off-camera flash to great effect.
We put our cameras away after this shot and enjoyed the party. No energy left for dancing though!
It was an absolute privilege to photograph Stuart and Jenny’s wedding being so close to Jenny’s family. Thanks for the opportunity and for a fabulous day. – Amy
