Wedding photographer: Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany: Craig & Vanessa

Amy was the wedding photographer at Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy for the wedding of Craig & Vanessa.

And so to one of my all-time favourite venues: Castello di Vincigliata and the wedding of Craig & Vanessa. I couldn’t wait to see these two again as we had had a really good laugh in Cortona months before when I was invited to their food-tasting (terrible but someone had to …)

A wedding sponsored (well, kind of) by Jo Malone; Vanessa had used the colour-scheme and elegance of the products to shape her wedding and with a huge helping hand from Jacqueline Bradshaw, my wonderful wedding planner friend, it all came together beautifully.

The ceremony took place at a lovely church in the province of Fiesole, just outside of Florence and a short drive from Castello di Vincigliata – a venue chosen by quite a few celebs in the last few years. The photographs say it all:

Wedding Photographer: Florence: Shannon & Shirley

Amy was the wedding photographer in Florence, Tuscany, Italy for Shannon & Shirley’s wedding.

From photographing people from Orlando in Positano to photographing people from Alabama in Florence. I was so excited to meet Bride Shirley as we chatted so much via email in the run-up to the wedding. She had only just submitted her booking contract when a huge tornado ripped through her backyard and took her fence, part of her roof and car along with it! Safe to say Shirley, Shannon and the other guests felt very blessed to have got to this day.

With temperatures way above average for March and the sky the bluest of blues, I started photographing Shirley and her friend Laura in a trendy salon. I soon left them to get on with it though and met Shannon and the rest of the guys, joining them on the short walk to the beautiful Sala Rossa and ceremony venue. This room is an old favourite of mine – I hope you’ll see why below.

The emotional ceremony was followed by a short photo shoot through the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio before we headed up to Piazzale Michelangelo and La Loggia Restaurant. If you’re not sure where I’m on about, when you Google Florence you’ll see lots of stunning shots ‘from above’ – well, it seems that way. Those shots are taken from this wonderful spot. Here, take a look:

Shannon, Shirley, family & friends: you made me feel so welcome. Thank you so much for having me and for allowing me to be part of such a special day. A special thank you for my wonderful meal too! I’ll never forget. Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano, Florence & Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy: Stephen & Sarah

Amy was the wedding photographer in Florence at Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano, Piazza Antinori & in Fiesole at Castello di Vincigliata, Tuscany, Italy for the wedding of Stephen & Sarah.

Having been the wedding photographer at James and Victoria’s wedding in Fiesole and then at ‘Castello di Vincliata’ last year, I was really looking forward to returning to Tuscany again. I LOVE it! I also LOVE photographing weddings when the families are from Ireland as I know that I’m going to be in stitches all the way through the speeches – that Blarney stone has got so much to answer for!

Stephen & Sarah got ready in different hotels both located in Piazza Santa Maria Novella in central Florence and then walked through the beautiful streets to the breath-taking church Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano in Piazza Antinori for the ceremony. Father John, the Great-Uncle of Sarah had married Sarah’s grandparents and parents and now had the honour of marrying Stephen & Sarah – his third generation family wedding. Quite something.

Here we go:

Stephen & Sarah – your wedding was gorgeous and you made me feel so very welcome. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope your cruise was fantastic and I’ll be in touch soon.

Wedding photographer: Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy: James & Victoria

Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy for the wedding of James & Victoria.

Thanks to Kathryn Lloyd Wedding Design, the wedding of James and Victoria was perfectly planned down to the most minor detail. The ceremony in the Duomo of Fiesole was spectacular despite the pouring rain outside. On to Castello di Vincigliata, just outside of Fiesole; truly one of the most exquisite venues that we have ever had the pleasure of photographing. It was actually quite difficult to photograph, giving any kind of scale, without the luxury of a helicopter but I think the photographs of it further down the page show just how beautiful it is:

James making the final touches.

And Victoria’s final touches – such beautiful light in this photograph.

The Duomo in Fiesole is very dramatic. The priests in Italy are always so accommodating to us photographers :-)

A lovely shot of the newly-weds exiting the church – the rain had stopped!

James’s Mum was so happy all day long.

A ‘Kathryn Lloyd’ touch: no mine-sweeping allowed!

A formal shot taken from a great angle – something a bit different.

The girls (including Ewa, the bridesmaid) kept themselves entertained with their DS games all day long. Kids!

Castello di Vincigliata – what a venue!

Straight after the cake was cut the fireworks started – spectacular!

The courtyard looked fabulous for the evening party. The theme went from traditional to modern with large white globe lights and huge cushions.

Beautiful, beautiful wedding, perfectly planned and the incredible thunderstorm just before the ceremony will also be well remembered! – Amy

Wedding photographer: La Sala Rossa, Borgo San Jacapo & Hotel Continentale, Florence, Tuscany, Italy: Dave & Kate

Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at La Sala Rossa, Borgo San Jacapo & Hotel Continentale, Florence, Tuscany, Italy for the wedding of Dave & Kate.

Wow – what a beautiful and interesting day for us on Saturday in Florence (Firenze to the Italians!) Dave & Kate were married in the Town Hall in a special, historic room called the Sala Rossa. Afterwards with a slight detour to a bar in Piazza della Signoria they walked through the city and across the Ponte Vecchio to a very trendy, fashion-styled restaurant called Borgo San Jacapo. As you’ll see from the image below, it’s on the side of the river Arno with a wonderful view of the famous bridge.

After dinner, everyone made their way back across the Ponte Vecchio to the Hotel Continentale, which has a fabulous roof-top terrace (under canopy) with amazing views of the city.

It’s a really stunning city to visit and the day was paced perfectly for everyone involved. On with the images:
