On Saturday we were in a village about an hour south of Rome called Arpino for Matt & Cath’s wedding. The majority of their 120 guests had travelled out to Italy from the UK for their big day and they were treated to fabulous weather, a fabulous wedding and an incredible meal with more courses than we could remember afterwards!
There’s a lovely story behind how they chose Arpino – Matt’s great grandparents were married in the same church in 1912! We’ve got some gorgeous images of the story of their day including some photographs that they’d specifically asked for at his ancestors old home.
Cath & her father walked through the streets of Arpino to the church.
A thoughtful moment during the ceremony.
Confetti Italian-style (rice!) in the searing early-afternoon heat.
The church and a seriously blue sky!
Whilst Matt & Helen prepared to leave for his great-grandparents’ old house, the guests quickly headed for the shade and a quick drink in the bar opposite the church.
Walking up to the old house.
And another walking shot – this time through the hotel dining room entrance for the wedding meal.
Thanks to Father David for allowing us the freedom to photograph the ceremony and give Matt & Cath some lovely photographs to remember this special day by. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon folks – lets hope Italy can beat the French this time! – Andy
