Wedding Photographer: Iscoyd Park, Whitchurch, Shropshire: Rich & Lois

Amy was the wedding photographer at Iscoyd Park, Whitchurch, Shropshire for Rich & Lois’s wedding.

After the two Lakes’ weddings, we drove through Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France to make it in good time for the wedding of Rich & Lois, which was near to Whitchurch, on the Shropshire / Wales border. This wedding was a day out amongst old friends for me – the 5th wedding amongst the same party of friends that I had photographed. I recognized lots of guest’s faces and it was great to catch up with Laurie & Dave and Stacey & Ben.

Iscoyd Park is a real treasure of a wedding venue. A private home that has been beautifully renovated and is surrounded by lovely gardens. The weather just about held out too. The forecast for the day was dreadful and the heavens did open just as Lois arrived at church but, by the end of the ceremony, the sun had come out and guests could enjoy a couple of hours outside in the sunshine at Iscoyd Park.

I’m pretty sure that I have never before delivered so many images from the speeches alone. From Rich’s heart-opener to the Best Men & Bridesmaids character assignation of both Rich & Lois, guests went from laughing to crying and back again over and over again!

It was a shame that I was only allowed to stay at the back of the church throughout the ceremony. I am always so respectful of the ceremony and will ‘hold fire’ at the appropriate moments but, alas, perhaps yet another UK vicar had been bitten by the curse of the unruly wedding photographer and as such, I felt anything but welcome as I entered the church. Hey ho! Perhaps one day, the UK vicars and priests will take a leaf out of their Italian counter-part’s books and welcome everyone in – photographers too and let’s see if the numbers in church can rise to anything like that of Italy!

Here are some images to be going on with. These are sure to make you smile :-)

All hands on deck as the dress goes on.

What a hoot! Such a fun day and brilliant to see so many familiar faces. I hope to catch up with you all again sometime soon – I hear the next wedding will be in Italy. It’s about time you lot travelled to me anyway!!

Rich & Lois, thanks for being brilliant. I’ll be in touch later today with access details to the rest of your images. Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Villa Cipressi, Lake Como: David & Anna

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Cipressi, Lake Como, Italy for David & Anna’s wedding.

One day to travel from Malcesine on Lake Garda to Tremezzo on Lake Como for wedding number 3 of the week. David & Anna’s wedding was at Villa Cipressi, Varenna which is on the opposite side of the Lake to Tremezzo. The ferries however are brilliant and reliable and so it was that we took the boat to work. Whilst the ferries on Lake Como are always reliable, the weather is not so. When it rains, boy-oh-boy, does it rain and the 7th of July turned out to be rather a wet & thundery day.

Villa Cipressi was as beautiful as I remembered it from Frank & Katherine’s wedding there back in 2009. Luckily the options for marrying and eating inside are as beautiful as the options outside. In fact, despite looking as though it might just tip-down for the entire day, it did brighten up for long enough for us to enjoy a boat ride across the Lake and a stop-off at the exquisite Villa Balbianello.

Here’s a little taster of what’s to come:

I love this image: check out the steam coming off Anna’s hair as it’s ironed!

Pretty flower-girl.

My very favourite ‘type’ of image. Look closely: a bridesmaid on the right is pouring champagne, another is spraying her hair. The Bride makes any final adjustments in the mirror whilst the flower-girl checks that her petals are correctly placed. A true moment in time.

Bridal Party

Well, the heavens opened again as we arrived back at Villa Cipressi for dinner but wedding planner Jeremy from Affinita Weddings, did a grand job of making the room look beautiful (with a little help from the photographers!) Thanks to Jeremy for being great on the day, to David & Anna for being so easy to photograph and a special mention to Roger, Anna’s Dad, who helped the day run so smoothly and for making sure that we were so well looked-after. Your gallery will be online VERY soon guys – I’ll be back! Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Malcesine Castle, Lake Garda: Richard & Paula

Amy was the wedding photographer at Malcesine Castle, Lake Garda, Italy for Richard & Paula’s wedding.

I flew from London into Bologna airport where Andy whisked me up and took me straight to Malcesine in Lake Garda for the wedding of Richard & Paula. Bumping into the wedding party the evening before was a wonderful coincidence meaning that when I arrived to photograph Paula getting ready the next day, I already felt like I knew her.

Having been the wedding photographer at Malcesine Castle several times before, I know it very well but the views from the top still blow me away. The weather for Richard & Paula’s big day was perfect, despite fears of storms and so, after the ceremony, we all enjoyed a boat ride across the Lake.

The beautifully classy Al Corsaro played host to the reception, a restaurant on the Lake front. Take a look:

Wedding Photographer: Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire: Kolone & Helen

Amy was the wedding photographer at Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire, UK for Kolone & Helen’s wedding.

After 3 short days at home, I was off again. This time a flight to London and to Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire for the wedding of Kolone & Helen. I photographed the wedding of Vanessa, Helen’s bridesmaid and Kerry, Kolone’s usher, last May at Montegridolfo, Italy.

Brocket Hall is absolutely beautiful. Set in stunning grounds, its elegant interior includes a truly exquisite Ballroom and it has a really intriguing history. Indeed it has entertained Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers for over 300 years.

Helen & Kolone put so much into their wedding – guests were treated to fireworks, a childhood video montage and a same-day edit wedding video by the brilliant Michael Kin Lee from Givefunla – flown in from Hong Kong to video the occasion.

This lot will give you a taster:

Wedding Photographer: Comune of Salò and The Grand Hotel, Gardone Riviera, Lake Garda: Michael & Anna

Amy was the wedding photographer at the Comune of Salò and The Grand Hotel, Gardone Riviera, Lake Garda, Italy for Michael & Anna’s wedding.

Since I posted Adi & Emma’s blog post on the 1st of July, I have been to the UK for the wedding of Kolone & Helen, flown back to Italy (but not home!) photographed weddings at Lake Garda and Lake Como and have travelled back to the UK overland via nightstops in southern Germany and Bruges in Belgium. You could say that I’ve been a wee bit busy ;-)

With a few days on my hands before Saturday’s wedding I am furiously processing images and designing albums so that all of my wonderful brides and grooms have the shortest possible wait to see their wedding images. Bear with me – I’m doing my best!

Michael & Anna were married in the beautiful Comune of Salò. What a wonderful staircase and room. Anna arranged her wedding so that with just 5 hours of photography coverage, I managed to capture everything from getting ready to cutting the cake and even had an hour alone with them to take photographs around the streets of stunning Salò.

Just 5 minutes down the road is the lovely Grand Hotel Gardone Riviera, a hotel that I am very familiar with having photographed weddings there in the past. A great option and the choice to sit and eat inside or out. Take a look:

The Comune of Salò – look at the ceiling! The light in the room throughout the ceremony was amazing.

Another confetti shot on the blog – just because I love’em!

Groom & Guests

I set-up a shot of Anna & Michael at the bottom of the Comune building’s staircase but I love this one equally taken seconds before. The bridesmaids were helping me out by arranging Anna’s dress. A lovely story-teller.
