Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Statham Lodge, Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Mike & Kerry.
It’s been a little while since we updated our blog – we’ve had some travelling to do! On Saturday we were in Cheshire for Mike & Kerry’s wedding at St John’s in Walton followed by the reception at Statham Lodge. As Mike & Kerry were getting ready within just a couple of miles of each other, Amy & I split up – Amy went to Kerry’s parents’ house to photograph the bridal preparations & I went to Statham Lodge to meet up with Mike & his best men – Alex & Kostas. Everyone was surprisingly relaxed – the vicar was wonderful & they had a superb band in the evening. We’ve got some really great images as a result. Here are a few straight out of camera:
Kerry’s sister Sarah did her makeup beautifully.
I like the shirt & tie combination.
The groom (middle) & best men.
Kerry with her Dad. Mum in the doorway.
Little Evis didn’t want his photograph taken – until he saw the back of the camera! This was a pose he wanted himself: “my angry face” which was closely followed by the “tiger face” :)
Outside the church surrounded by friends & family.
The evening fun got underway with the first dance, followed shortly afterwards by the ‘money dance’. What a great tradition!
There are loads more where these came from. Thanks for having us folks – it was great (although I think I ate too much chocolate!) Thanks also to Kelly & the staff at Statham Lodge for looking after us. – Andy
Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Highgate House, Northampton, UK for the wedding of Andy & Vicki.
On Friday it was the turn of Andy & Vicki to ‘tie the knot’. Their wedding took place at Highgate House near Northampton in the stunning Baronial Hall; however, the registrar was completely against anything to do with cameras and we were only allowed to record one photograph of Vicki entering the ceremony room. The registrar later (thoughtfully?) created a ‘simulated’ signing of a ‘fake’ register (apparently for our benefit) so that we had at least two photographs to record what the day was actually about! Hmmm. Apparently, it’s the registrar’s day and not the happy couple’s.
Highgate House is actually a beautiful venue for a wedding and Vicki’s planning ensured that everything flowed perfectly. They enjoyed their day with a wonderfully friendly bunch of family & friends (including the ‘hockey girls!’) and it was pleasure to spend the day with them all.
We’re constantly trying to put a variety of shots on the blog so we don’t just pick out our absolute favourites – there are lots more to come. Here are a few from the day:
Lucy – a very elegant young bridesmaid – I don’t think we managed to take one bad photograph of her (no matter how hard we tried!)
The beautiful bride just before leaving home.
Very smart! The bar area offered us the opportunity to get some depth into the photographs.
A moment during the line-up.
Andy (2nd from right) with his bestman Tom (seated) and two ushers.
haha – love this. The party in full swing :)
That’s it for now – don’t forget to leave a comment or two for the happy couple! – Andy
Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Rowton Hall, Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Nick & Luci.
One of the most colourful weddings of the year yesterday. Nick & Luci were married at Rowton Hall and despite the early showers, the weather changed with impeccable timing just as Luci was about to walk down the aisle. As well as doing our thing photographically we enjoyed meeting & chatting to many of the guests. Although many photographers distance themselves completely, we much prefer to be known and accepted. We strongly believe that we get better images as a result – every wedding is like a friend’s wedding :) On with some images:
Can anyone guess the shoe designer? The selected lens aperture has done a good job of blurring out the clue :)
Towards the end of the ceremony, I turned around and, through the half-open main door, I noticed the gorgeous light on the champagne & gerbera.
Mollie was waiting outside to say hi to her newly-married parents. She was even featured in some of the formals :)
Don’t you just love strong colours!
We absolutely love this – the colours, the expression – everything.
One of the happy couple – if truth be told I think Nick would be first to admit that he was relieved to have that chair to lean on!
For the first dance the amazing Marvin Ruffin sang for the couple – wow – what a voice!!
That’s it for now – don’t forget to leave a comment! As for us, we’re driving home to Italy tomorrow and our next wedding is Simone & Pete’s on Lake Como – that’s going to be something special I’m sure. Ciao! – Andy
Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Mottram Hall, Cheshire, UK for the wedding of David & Jenny.
Friday turned out to be a beautiful sunny day for David & Jenny’s wedding in Didsbury followed by their reception at Mottram Hall. It was a very relaxed and nicely-paced day from start to finish – Jenny had obviously done her homework on the timings as it ran perfectly to plan without having to rush anything. Since we’re not really ‘garden’ photographers, we didn’t make much use of the outdoors at Mottram and instead we’ve got some wonderful romantic shots of the couple indoors; more about that another time – but here’s a few images from earlier in the day to whet the appetite:
All of these shots are Amy’s & taken at Jenny’s parent’s house. It makes such a difference when everyone can be ready early and have time for gorgeous images like this.
The light in the church was spectacular (strong sunlight beaming through high windows). This is all natural light falling on Jenny whilst she signed the register.
Here’s David & Jenny leaving the church – beautiful contrasty light again & perfect for these moments!
Arriving at Mottram Hall.
I had to put this one in! There were a couple of tiny babies there but I absolutely love this image.
And finally, a ‘smoochie’ :)
That’s it for now – hope you like them folks – there are a lot more where these came from! -Andy
