Wedding Photographer: Siena Town Hall & Il Chiostro del Carmine, Siena, Tuscany: Andy & Vicky

Amy was the photographer at Siena Town Hall & Il Chiostro del Carmine, Siena, Tuscany, Italy for Andy & Vicky’s wedding.

Followers of this blog will know just how much I love to photograph in Siena Town Hall: the rich colours, beautiful ceiling and the breath-taking surrounding rooms make it really exciting for me. I was so happy to be there for Andy & Vicky’s relaxed wedding day. After the ceremony we ran over to the Palio Bar on the other side of the Piazza. We ran since the heavens had opened! It soon dried up though and we had time for photographs on the way to the lovely Chiostro del Carmine.

A really fun atmosphere and I’m sure, a brilliant evening! Here we go:

Wedding Photographer: Siena Town Hall & Villa Dievole, Tuscany: Rob & Emily

Amy was the wedding photographer at Siena Town Hall & Villa Dievole, Tuscany, Italy for Rob & Emily’s wedding.

As soon as I had finished photographing Andy & Maria’s wedding at Lake Garda, I drove down to Tuscany and stayed close to Villa Dievole ready for the wedding of Rob & Emily the next day. Siena Wedding Planner and great friend of mine, Jacqueline Bradshaw had raved about Villa Dievole and I was really looking forward to seeing it for myself. Well, Jackie wasn’t wrong! Stunning, stunning, stunning. Beautiful Villa, beautiful surroundings and a breath-taking view.

Both Rob & Emily got ready at Villa Dievole then we all headed 20 minutes down the road for the ceremony at Siena Town Hall and drinks in the square before we headed back to the Villa for the evening. Siena Town Hall is still one of my favourite ceremony rooms to photograph in. Read on and see why:

Wedding Photographer: Il Chiostro del Carmine, Siena, Tuscany: Jamie & Sarah

Amy was the photographer at Il Chiostro del Carmine, Siena, Tuscany, Italy for Jamie & Sarah’s wedding.

I spoke too soon! I thought I took the good weather with me but it seemed my luck ran out on Sunday in Siena. Threatening to pour down, the ceremony was moved indoors into a beautiful little chapel in hotel ‘Il Chiostro del Carmine’ – a hidden gem in central Siena.

After the ceremony and group shots under the cloisters we had a ‘should we or shouldn’t we’ moment as we decided whether or not to risk getting wet for some photographs in the main Piazza in Siena. ‘Go for it!’ was their decision. We walked down to the centre, photographing as we went and then bam! – the heavens opened. Jamie and Sarah were absolutely fantastic. Sarah whipped her shoes off and didn’t stop smiling as we made our way to the waiting taxi! I’m not sure how many other Brides would have been so upbeat and blasé about getting soaked to the skin in your wedding dress! Sarah – you were a star. Jamie, you looked after Sarah wonderfully and were both so much fun to photograph.

Poppy time of year – my favourite flower.

Stunning Sarah.

Personally, I think the location and lighting for the indoor ceremony beat where the outdoor ceremony would have been.

Love this shot from the ceremony.

I worked hard to try and minimise the height difference in the photographs – over a foot!

One of my favourites from the day. I remember saying ‘Sarah, move your head to the other end of Jamie’s chest!’ It was a BIG chest!

You were so FABULOUS. On my own wedding day, I said to David (our photographer) “just take beautiful pictures – I’m not bothered if my dress gets dirty!” I think you out-did me! Thank you so much for letting me be such a part of your day – I loved it :) -Amy x
