Wedding Photographer: Villa Eva, Ravello, Amalfi Coast: Mark & Linzi

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Eva, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy for Mark & Linzi’s wedding.

Having photographed many weddings in Ravello, I still hadn’t had the chance to photograph one in Ravello’s stunning cathedral, until now. Thank you so much to Mark & Linzi for giving me this chance and of course, the opportunity of photographing at Ravello’s beautiful Villa Eva for the second time this summer.

Mark got ready at The Giordano Hotel whilst just up the alleyway in Villa Maria, Linzi and her bridesmaids got ready. Close enough for me to skip between the two without losing too much time. The walk down to the Cathedral with the girls was great fun and the grandeur of the Duomo interior didn’t disappoint. After the ceremony, drinks in the piazza and some family photographs, we walked back up the path to the lovely Villa Eva. Here we go, have a nosey:

Wedding Photographer: Villa Eva, Ravello, Amalfi Coast: John & Fiona

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Eva, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy for John & Fiona’s wedding.

From Orvieto, I travelled down to Ravello for the wedding of John & Fiona. The beautiful weather turned to thunder storms but in fact made it pretty magical. The noise of the rain during the ceremony was phenomenal but as soon as the doors were opened and John & Fiona made their exit the sun came out – don’t you just love those moments!

Fiona got ready at the beautiful Villa Fraulo and the ceremony was at Santa Maria Gradillo: a church with a very unique interior. Due to the rain, drinks in the square were moved to a local bar that actually made it a more private affair and preferable to John & Fiona. We found time to enter into the wonderful Villa Rufolo for photographs. If you’re visiting Ravello, Villa Rufolo is definitely worth the entrance fee.

After that we met up with the guests again and made our way to Villa Eva, another stunning Villa with wonderful views overlooking Maiori and the rest of the Amalfi Coast. Such a chilled-out couple and a very memorable day. Here we go:

Well, Brides & Grooms don’t come much more relaxed than you two! You didn’t even care that it was raining! So long as you didn’t get wet in your Cabriolet around Tuscany! Hope you had a great time. I’ll be in touch very soon with the access details for the rest of your gallery. Thanks for everything, Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Amalfi & Positano: Nathan & Emily

Amy was the wedding photographer in Amalfi & Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy for Nathan & Emily’s wedding.

Just a few days after my wet day in Siena, I travelled down to Amalfi for the wedding of Nathan & Emily. Nathan & Emily were alone for their magical day but will soon be travelling back to Australia for a reception with family and friends. What a great way of ensuring a stress-free, intimate and romantic wedding!

They both got ready together in the centre of Amalfi. Emily had managed to hide the dress from Nathan so he got kicked out whilst Emily dressed and then I set up a little meeting in the street. We wandered through the lovely streets of Amalfi, taking photographs as we passed the beautiful cathedral and then met the car to travel to Positano Town Hall.

The private ceremony was followed by a wander through the streets of Positano, where we met the boat that took us along the coastline back to Amalfi. I left Nathan & Emily at this point but they went on to a fab restaurant where they had a table for two. Perfect.

Wedding Photographer: Maiori, Amalfi Coast: John & Kelly

Amy was the wedding photographer in Maiori, Amalfi Coast, Italy for John & Kelly’s wedding.

Back in 2008 (have I got that right folks?) I photographed the wonderful wedding of James & Hayley at Malcesine Castle on Lake Garda. This time James & Hayley’s good friends, John & Kelly, were married at the wonderful Hotel Due Torri in Maiori – one of the coastal towns just a few kms before you reach Amalfi & Ravello.

Since photographing the beautiful private ceremony of Joe & Liz in Positano just one month before, it was as though someone had gone along the Amalfi Coast with a big yellow and purple brush and coloured it all in! The spring flowers were out in force – the wonderful yellow of mimosa and forsythia and the purple of … the purple flowers (must look that flower up one day!)

John & Kelly were an absolute dream to photograph. Easy-going, lots of fun and gorgeous. Hotel Due Torri lent itself perfectly to a wedding as the ceremony took place on the 5th floor, aperativi were enjoyed on the 6th floor terrace and the wedding breakfast was consumed on the 4th floor’s Pandora Hall – a beautiful, beautiful room.

After dinner, we all left the hotel and walked across the road to the Norman Tower where Chinese Lanterns were released and the guests partied hard!

Here we go:

Kelly’s beautiful dress, chosen about 18 months before the big day.

Wedding Photographer: Positano, Amalfi Coast: Joe & Liz

Amy was the wedding photographer in Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy for Joe & Liz’s wedding.

First wedding of the year. Boy was I excited to get going again!

Joe, Liz and 6 of their friends had travelled from Orlando, Florida to spend a few days in Venice (where they officially got engaged), a few days in Florence and had got to Positano a few days before their beautiful ceremony that took place on the balcony of their apartment. I can’t ever remember witnessing such a very private, intimate and emotional ceremony as this one. Their friend Grant was the officiant but everyone there said a few words about their particular relationship with the Bride & Groom. Nobody came close to ‘holding it together’ during Joe & Liz’s words to each other!

The ceremony took place with Positano town as a backdrop which was where we headed afterwards. The light dropped as we walked but there was just enough time to grab a handful of shots before I left the wedding party ordering their dinner.

Thank you for letting me share folks. It was magical. I hope you love these and the rest that are to come:
