Amy was the wedding photographer in Artimino, Tuscany, Italy at the Pieve di San Leonardo & Villa Artimino for Jan & Lauren’s wedding.
Wedding Dress: Pronovias
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Bridesmaids’ Dresses: Dessy
Artimino is a lovely little ‘borgo’ in the hills to the west of Florence. The landscape from Artimino is far-reaching and typically Tuscan – vines and olive trees as far as the eye can see. Villa Artimino commands the foreground, a stunning and incredibly majestic Medici Villa that played host to Jan & Lauren’s big day.
The wedding ceremony took place in a church that was commissioned in 998 and built soon-after. Despite very grey clouds circling and loud thunder claps in the distance, the weather behaved and the sun barely went in.
Jan, his Best Man on his left and usher on the right. You’ll see from this small selection of images, the red theme worked brilliantly.
One of the funniest moment in a ceremony ever: the bride and her father made their big entrance, the groom had tears in his eyes, they stood at the top of the aisle waiting for the ceremony to begin. But where was the priest? Asleep behind the altar! The groom had to go and give him a nudge!!
The ceremony didn’t quite go without a hitch after that as the rings had been tied to the ring-cushion a wee bit too tight and took a good 5 minutes to get undone! Guests went from hysterical laughter though to tears of emotion when the incredible soprano sung Ave Maria – barely a dry eye in the house.
A beautiful church, over 1000 years old.
Pelted with rice!
With the back-drop of an olive tree.
Aperitivi on the lawn in front of the stunning Villa Artimino.
I said the red worked brilliantly!
Give me a wave!
We arranged it so that the guests lined either side of the staircase and clapped the bride & groom into dinner:
There were so many great shots from the speeches because a. the speeches were so funny and b. Lauren was so expressive! I love this face :-)
One of my personal favourites from the whole day. Look at the size of that cake!
Beautiful day folks. Hope you’re having a fab time in Sardinia and here’s hoping we’ll see each other again in St Helens soon. Amy xGoogle+
