Wedding Photographer: Villa Catignano & Siena, Tuscany: Richard & Biljana

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Catignano & Siena, Tuscany, Italy for Richard & Biljana’s wedding.

Back to what I think is a winning Tuscany wedding day combination – Siena and Villa Catignano. It doesn’t matter how many times I go to Siena, I always feel excited when I enter into the main piazza. If you’ve not been, go. That’s my best advice.

Biljana, whose family are from Moldova, and Richard from the UK were married in the beautiful Town Hall, Siena. We had time for some photographs in and around town afterwards with the Bridesmaids in tow before we headed back to the wonderful Villa Catignano. This is one of the venues that I would recommend if you are considering a wedding in Tuscany. It’s just gorgeous:

Wedding Photographer: Certosa di Pontignano & Villa Catignano, Tuscany: Nigel & Brenda

Amy was the wedding photographer at Certosa di Pontignano and Villa Catignano, Tuscany, Italy for Nigel & Brenda’s wedding.

Villa Catignano is one of my favourite venues and certainly one that I recommend regularly. I love the colours of the buildings, the rustic charm and the elegant gardens. Nigel & Brenda had their ceremony just a few miles down the road from the villa at Certosa di Pontignano. A beautiful church with cloisters and a very special chapel.

I have to say that professionally, I think that this wedding is one of the best that I ever produced. The light, backgrounds and wonderful style of the Bride just all came together beautifully. Take a look:

Wedding Photographer: Villa Catignano & Siena, Tuscany: Laird & Chauncey

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Catignano & Siena, Tuscany, Italy for Laird & Chauncey’s wedding.

For me, this was one of the stand-out weddings of my summer season. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all wonderful days and I love each and every wedding that I photograph but I absolutely loved the way that Laird & Chauncey arranged their wedding and the venue and styling were just to die for.

Villa Catignano is a wonderful place to marry. The orange villa with its flowers, gardens, lemon trees, terracotta pots, courtyard, views are like something from a fairytale. Laird and Chauncey both got ready at the villa and then travelled into Siena with a small group of their closest friends and family for their legal ceremony in Siena Town Hall. They enjoyed a celebratory drink at a bar in Siena’s main piazza, some photographs in the square before we headed back to the Villa for a symbolic ceremony with all of the guests in the beautiful gardens.

Aperitivi followed and the most wonderful dinner on a beautifully-laid single, long table. If I were to marry again (sorry Andy!) then I think that what Laird and Chauncey arranged was just perfect. Take a look:

Great tip from Chauncey: get a fancy hanger for your ‘wedding dress hanging’ shot! Great idea :-)

Wedding Photographer: Villa Catignano, Tuscany: Edward & Eleanore

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa Catignano, Tuscany, Italy for Edward & Eleanore’s wedding.

I hadn’t photographed a wedding at Villa Catignano for a couple of years and was really looking forward to going back. When Ed called me and asked if it was possible for me to arrive 2 hours early to try and avoid the forecast evening rain, it wasn’t a problem at all.

Soon after arriving and meeting gorgeous Ele, my all-important job was magnified as Ele had been very poorly last summer. She explained that the one thing that had got her through her darkest days was the dreams about her wedding in Tuscany. Should a miracle happen, one day, she might just end up in Tuscany, with all of her family and friends around her, marrying Ed in a glorious setting. Well that miracle did happen and it happened in style!

So, obviously Ed is a very lucky guy but then again, Ele is too! Ed looked so handsome in his suit and had some great mates running around after him all day! A really humble and caring kind of guy.

Not only was Ele one of the nicest people I’ve ever met – totally humble and constantly smiling, she has also set up her own charity. Whereas most of us would visit Africa and leave feeling desperately sorry for the people, Ellie came home and set up Challenge Africa. Please visit the website – it’s a great read and an incredibly worthy cause.

Ed, Ele and their son Josh, had a fabulous day. The orange of Villa Catignano makes for a wonderful backdrop, or turn around and the view over to Siena isn’t bad either! See what you think:
