There weren’t any of the usual British weather concerns for Ronan & Yue Mei’s wedding near Siena on Monday – instead the main concern was the heat! With Italy currently experiencing something of a ‘heatwave’ and the mid-afternoon temperature approaching 40C a quick decision was made to put the ceremony back an hour to 6pm – and a good decision it was :) Everything went perfectly to plan thanks to Monica and the Wedding With A View team, and the setting for the evening meal in particular, will remain with me for a very very long time.
Yue Mei looked absolutely stunning (& Ronan scrubbed up pretty well also ;) ) Many congratulations folks – may we also say that you’re both extremely lucky to have such amazing families. Thanks also to Maurizio who did the videography – a real gentleman and a pleasure to work with.
Here’s a few images of the day:
Yue Mei getting the lipstick treatment!

Love this shot of Ronan – straight out of camera.

How gorgeous?!

We made use of the chapel’s shaded front for the formals – a welcome break from the sun – even at 8pm!

Simply beautiful – great shot Amy!

Love the strong, golden evening light which makes the Villa bright orange. I was playing a bit with motion (I think they thought I was mad!)

How about this for your evening reception venue?

It was worth taking the tripod with us for this shot alone.

Hope you like them folks – have a great honeymoon – there are LOTS more where they came from! – Andy

After months & months of waiting, we have finally completed on our house purchase in Umbria. The house is a complete renovation project but the location it’s in is absolutely amazing. We also own the 10 acres of hillside around it so I guess we won’t be having anyone build on our doorstep in future either :) Here’s a quick snap taken from the hillside above ours looking across to our property. The redline marks the boundary of the land although I’ve guessed where the line is dotted as the boundary is hidden beneath trees. You can’t see the final third of the field – it stretches out to the far red line – but slopes away from the camera which is why it’s hidden (if that makes sense!) The house is under a big arrow surrounded by overgrown trees & bushes. I’ve linked the image below to a slightly bigger one if you want a closer look.
Bed for us now – it’s Ronan & Yue Mei’s wedding tomorrow near Siena – it’s gonna be VERY warm!

We were booked to shoot Mark & Vicky’s wedding on 7/7/07 a LONG time ago! Since then we must have had almost a dozen other enquiries for this date. Despite the recent down-pours in the UK, the weather was kind and allowed everyone a chance to make the most of the outside areas at the Mytton & Mermaid Hotel near Shrewsbury. A lovely couple, intimate venue, great families & friends, hilarious speeches, evening hog roast… – need I go on? Here are some memories:
Wow! Gorgeous little bridesmaid (& good as gold all day!)

Vicky & Mum with Dad loitering in the background.

He’s gonna break some hearts in future!

Grandma (complete with Pimms) admires Vicky’s wedding ring.

All the boys & girls.

Some creativity with lighting on the happy couple.

That’s it for now. Thanks again folks for having us (& especially for feeding us!) – Have a great honeymoon – we’ll speak to you when you’re back. – AT

The rain failed to put the dampers on Stephen & Julie’s wedding on Saturday. Although boats weren’t required, there were times when I think everyone was quite happy to be inside looking out! They were married in Greek Orthodox style in Liverpool and then travelled the busy M6 to Mere Golf & Country Club for their reception. Over 200 guests, a lovely meal (thank you folks, we really appreciated your generosity) and a very lively party still in progress when we finally finished. Here’s a few images to whet the appetite of what was mostly a photo-journalistic day for us:
That’s not the bride getting all the attention btw!

Tears during the ceremony

Confetti

We love car windows for framing shots like these

Stephen & Phil (Best Man) – Sometimes these shots (which are ‘created’) just work brilliantly.

We’ve a fair number of UK weddings to shoot over the next few weeks and flying to/from Italy so often wasn’t really practical – besides, Jasmine would have spent an eternity in kennels, so we decided to drive back to Amy’s parents and camp there for a few weeks.
We left home on Tuesday morning and 29 hours later arrived in Warrington. The total driving time was 20hrs 2 minutes – and when you factor in 1.30hrs for the Channel Tunnel crossing (pet passport to sort etc.) and just under 6 hours sleep in a Formule 1 near Paris, you can see we didn’t actually stop much otherwise! Strangely, we didn’t see a single police car on the road in Italy or France and yet within 5 minutes of joining the M20 near Dover, we saw 3 traffic cars.
Ironically, we’ve got to fly back out to Italy in a couple of weeks for a wedding & we’ve another to photograph in Spain before we drive back to Italy – it’s a good job we love to travel!
We’ve just photographed Stephen & Julie’s wedding and we’ll have a quick look through the images today for some to post on the blog tomorrow. -AT
