Wedding Photographer: Tuscany

The blog post that I wrote and published yesterday about the beautiful wedding of Richard & Nasrin at La Foce has been so well-received that I thought I’d quickly follow it up with Part 2. The day after the wedding, in the early evening, I met up with Richard and Nas again for a photo shoot in Tuscany. We just had an hour or two and were so incredibly lucky with the light.

We spent the first part of the shoot in the gorgeous town of San Quirico d’Orcia and after that we literally drove around and found places on the side of busy and fast-moving roads or on private driveways! We ended the shoot with a walk off the beaten track to a stunning little chapel literally in the middle of nowhere. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks to Richard & Nas for this wonderful opportunity – one of my highlights as a professional photographer. Now for the album … Amy x

Wedding Photographer: La Foce, Tuscany: Richard & Nasrin

Amy was the wedding photographer at La Foce, Tuscany, Italy for Richard & Nasrin’s wedding.

This beautiful wedding took place in one of the most stand-out venues of my entire 10 years of doing this job. La Foce in the Val d’orcia is simply stunning. Look it up online and you’ll see a fabulous aerial shot of it (unfortunately one that I couldn’t get!)

Richard, Nasrin, their daughters and their friends and families had come over from Australia and were absolutely smitten with the place – as you would be. Take a look:

This one was a real pleasure to capture. The people and the place made for a magical day. Great work from Elia at Super Tuscan Wedding Planners too. Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Fattoria Terrarossa, Montepulciano: Tibor & Caroline

Amy was the wedding photographer at Fattoria Terrarossa, Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy for Tibor & Caroline’s wedding.

One of my first weddings of 2016 was at the Fattoria Terrarossa, close to the famous Tuscan town of Montepulciano. When I first arrived, the rain was absolutely pouring down meaning that plans had to be changed and the ceremony had to be indoors. Still, the view from the room was magnificent and soon after the ceremony, the rain lightened and eventually stopped.

Tibor & Caroline had travelled all the way from their home on Grand Cayman to enjoy their beautiful wedding day in Tuscany. Here are a few of their album pages:

Caroline had said that she was not very keen on having her photograph taken and would feel self-conscience if she was asked to pose. This is a very common phenomenon of course and I have lots of little tricks up my sleeves to help out people who really don’t like being photographed. Caroline looks amazing in these photographs and I really think that she enjoyed having them taken :-)

I’m so glad the rain stopped in the end! Thanks so much for a lovely day. Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Villa Antiche Mura, Sorrento: Brian & Laura

Amy was the photographer at Villa Antiche Mura, Sorrento, Italy for Brian & Laura’s wedding.

Brian & Laura’s wedding was the last for me in 2015 – my biggest and best year of photographing weddings. It was also at a venue that I had grown to love over the years and the one where I generally work more than anywhere else. It was going to be a great end to my season.

I had read a book, that I finished on the train travelling to Sorrento, about a girl who had fallen in love with a Vicar. When Laura told me that Brian was an Irish Minister I just knew that this was going to be an extra-special one. It didn’t disappoint. Laura, Brian and their friends and family were so much fun and welcomed me into their party like a guest. I loved every minute of photographing them and when my time for photographing was up, I put down my cameras and danced the night away with them. The train-journey the next day was … absolutely awful as I nursed the hangover from hell. Hey ho. It was worth it :-)

Another wedding season successfully negotiated and another year of doing my hobby for my job. I’m writing this post as I’ve just finished my 2016 wedding season – my 10th! Here’s to my 11th and the blog posts for this year’s wedding will start soon. Thanks so much to Laura & Brian and huge congratulations on the birth of beautiful little Dylan. Amy x

Wedding Photographer: Casale de’Pasquinelli, Lucca: Anthony & Meghan

Amy was the wedding photographer at Casale de’Pasquinelli, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy for Anthony & Meghan’s wedding.

Anthony, Meghan and their family and friends had travelled from the US to celebrate this beautiful wedding in my favourite Italian city, Lucca. With lots of time in the city for photographs after the ceremony, I was in my element. The open-air ceremony was in the stunning garden of Palazzo Pfanner – certainly worth the entrance fee if you’re ever in Lucca.

We drove about 20 minutes to the north of the city into the mountains to Casale de’pasquinelli. Take a look:
