Hello, I’m Kate Bowl and I own and run Queens and Bowl Wedding Accessories, my little boutique-style wedding accessories website. I adore the timeless and stylish feel of the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. You only have to look at photos of Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth et al to understand that, with the right vintage accessories and styling on your wedding day, you’ll never look back on your wedding photos with regret! My range is carefully selected from the collections of the best British and global designers who also share my love of vintage, including wedding shoe designers Rachel Simpson and Harriet Wilde. My bridal tiaras and headpieces selection is also vintage inspired, including designs from award-winning Halo & Co, Madeline Isaac-James and newer talent including Jo Barnes Vintage. Wedding jewellery includes designs by Ivory & Co and Filippa Scott and to finish off the look I have some beautiful marabou feather shrugs, capes and stoles by Sasso Bridal. I focus on handmade statement pieces that are stylish but unusual – there’s nothing on my site that I wouldn’t wear myself! Quality is also really important to me, so the vast majority of the pieces at Queens & Bowl are handcrafted. Materials are also top quality – including silver, rhodium (part of the platinum family), Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls. The site also features ‘Inspiration pages’ that offer ideas for how to get different vintage looks – with inspirational images from past and present. The idea is to help brides choose the right look for them and also to provide some styling tips for those who aren’t so sure. The rest of the site has been designed to make the browsing and buying process as easy as possible.
