Wedding Photographer: Shropshire – Shrewsbury, Meole Brace: Will & Louise

Amy & Andy were the wedding photographers at Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury, Shropshire for Will & Louise’s wedding.

It was great to return to the UK for the wedding of Will & Louise and to catch up with their friends Mark & Vicki, whose wedding we photographed back in July 2007. Will & Louise have been together for 11 years and have 3 gorgeous boys, Charlie, George & Henry. Holy Trinity Church is in Meole Village which is in the older part of Meole Brace – a pretty suburb of Shrewsbury. The church has recently been extended and a Village Hall has been built which is actually attached to the church via a lovely little courtyard; it has been beautifully finished with a barn-like interior that cleverly brings together the ‘old’ of the church with the ‘new’ of a brand-new building.

On with the images:

Hope you had a great time in Dubai folks – the first holiday EVER without the kids! Did Henry cry for you for 4 days?! You won’t have to wait long to see the rest of your photographs. I’ll be in touch very soon!

Wedding Photographer: Tuscany – Badia a Coltibuono, Italy: Tom & Claire

Amy was the wedding photographer for Tom & Claire’s wedding in Tuscany at Badia a Coltibuono.

The day finally arrived! We travelled into Tuscany for our friends’ Tom & Claire’s wedding. We’ve looked forward to it for a long, long time and what a treat it was. Tom, Claire & little Natasha, fun guests, lovely weather, great food and the best jazz band around (Marco Marconi Trio) made it an unforgettable day for us. We were also there as guests, so we had a slightly different perspective photographing from the ‘inside’ so to speak. It was late into the night when we finally headed home – walking to the car whilst 3 young wild boar trotted through the vines (oops!) along side us.

Photo time!

The Italian way of doing things obviously suits Claire – she was so laid back about getting ready despite not having much time to do it!

Thank you, thank you folks for being so thoughtful and making it also a day we’ll never forget – loved it from start to finish. Hope you’re not having too many withdrawal symptoms not having truffle daily ;)

Wedding Photographer: Lake Como – Villa del Balbianello & Lido di Lenno, Italy: Karl & Sarah-Louise

Amy was the wedding photographer at Villa del Balbianello & Lido di Lenno, Lake Como, Italy for the wedding of Karl & Sarah-Louise.

I am so, so lucky to visit the beautiful places that wedding photography takes me to and to be witness to some of the most magical, romantic moments in some of the most magical, romantic settings on earth. It’s almost impossible to choose my favourite venue given that a Castle in Tuscany differs so much from a Villa on the Amalfi Coast, a top Hotel in Rome and the stunning gardens alongside the Italian Lakes. However, if I was forced to choose my favourite wedding venue then this would be it: Villa del Balbianello, Lenno, Lake Como.

Karl & Sarah-Louise married underneath the stunning ivy-covered loggia on the 9th of September. Since Villa del Balbianello is on a peninsula, we accessed it by boat and it offers all-round views up and down Lake Como. Each blade of grass looks like it has been cut individually with a pair of scissors and the Villa itself is nothing short of breath-taking.

After the ceremony at Villa del Balbianello we had a fun boat-ride around the ‘corner’ to the Lido di Lenno: a funky, little Moroccan-style bar with its own beach and marquee.

Sarah-Louise got ready at The Grand Hotel Brittania Excelsior in Cadenabbia. Having just her Mum & Dad there made for a very relaxed pre-ceremony time:

Confetti – not just ordinary confetti however! Sarah-Louise’s mum had saved this from her own wedding 30-odd years ago. She’d decided back then that if she ever had a daughter, she would throw this confetti for her on her own wedding day! Here we go:

I was so pleased that the weather behaved after such a couple of stormy days prior to the wedding. As always I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Lake and can’t wait to start processing the rest of the images. If you’re looking for a Lake Como wedding photographer check out the Italian Lakes guide on my main site. Next stop – Tuscany for Tom & Claire!

Wedding Photographer: Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano, Florence & Castello di Vincigliata, Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy: Stephen & Sarah

Amy was the wedding photographer in Florence at Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano, Piazza Antinori & in Fiesole at Castello di Vincigliata, Tuscany, Italy for the wedding of Stephen & Sarah.

Having been the wedding photographer at James and Victoria’s wedding in Fiesole and then at ‘Castello di Vincliata’ last year, I was really looking forward to returning to Tuscany again. I LOVE it! I also LOVE photographing weddings when the families are from Ireland as I know that I’m going to be in stitches all the way through the speeches – that Blarney stone has got so much to answer for!

Stephen & Sarah got ready in different hotels both located in Piazza Santa Maria Novella in central Florence and then walked through the beautiful streets to the breath-taking church Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Gaetano in Piazza Antinori for the ceremony. Father John, the Great-Uncle of Sarah had married Sarah’s grandparents and parents and now had the honour of marrying Stephen & Sarah – his third generation family wedding. Quite something.

Here we go:

Stephen & Sarah – your wedding was gorgeous and you made me feel so very welcome. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope your cruise was fantastic and I’ll be in touch soon.

Wedding Photographer: Ravello Town Hall & Villa Cimbrone, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy: Ian & Sam

Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Ravello Town Hall & Villa Cimbrone, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy for the wedding of Ian & Sam.

Since becoming wedding photographers years ago we have heard lots of great reviews about Villa Cimbrone in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. We finally got the opportunity to photograph there for the wedding of Ian & Sam on the 28th August. Villa Cimbrone more than lived up to its incredible reputation – what a jaw-dropping place it is! The view from the terrace is reputed to be one of, if not THE best view in the whole of Italy and is certainly a sight that will stick with us for many years to come.

A wedding photographer’s dream, Ravello is perfect in every way – an elegant little town, high up in the hills with gorgeous, narrow streets and blooming with colourful flowers. I have to also mention the Infinito Suite at the 5 star Palazzo Sasso in which Sam and her bridesmaids got ready – Wow! I could have spent a week or two there with its stunning views and jacuzzi on the terrace. If only!

Ian’s vibrant waistcoat looked great. He fitted in perfectly in such a colourful little town.

Just married! I bet they were finding rice in various places for days afterward!

The bridal party pose for the formal group shot. What a stunning back-drop. We don’t normally post examples of the formal images because I think many photographers hate doing them (as do many couples!) But, for many, they’re an essential part of a wedding – a historical record of the people their and what they wore etc. When you’re as organised as Ian & Sam were on their wedding day, these images can be taken pretty quickly and then everyone gets back to the party. Well worth the effort eh?
