Complete Wedding: Peckforton Castle

November 16th, 2 comments

I reckon the best bit of advice that anyone could give you about choosing your wedding photographer would be to make sure that you have a good look through a few ‘complete’ weddings. It’s not too difficult to get together a handful of wonderful wedding photographs after taking the thousands that many do, but a complete wedding album will really tell you whether or not a photographer is right for you.

I’ve just updated my Complete UK Wedding from 2010 with Matt & Katy’s wedding at Peckforton Castle in May. So, if you’ve spent ‘forever’ looking through wedding photography websites and are getting a bit boggle-eyed, grab a glass of wine and a comfy chair then click here and ‘view slideshow.’

Can you see yourselves in these images? Drop me a line :-)

Wedding photographer: St. Christopher’s Church, Pott Shrigley & Shrigley Hall Hotel, Cheshire, UK: Richard & Rebecca

July 1st, No comments

Amy was the Wedding Photographer at St. Christopher’s Church, Pott Shrigley & Shrigley Hall Hotel Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Richard & Rebecca.

On the 19th of June, Richard & Rebecca were married in the beautiful, rural village of Pott Shrigley in Cheshire. Rarely have I come across a more relaxed bride as Rebecca, tucking into a sandwich as soon as she was ready and the dress was on! The day flowed with the same relaxed vibe as the morning preps and the Vicar followed suit by sharing holiday anecdotes as part of the sermon.

Richard beamed all day long and the weather stayed warm and blue – in fact, don’t want to speak too soon but all of my recent weddings, whether in Italy or the UK, have been glorious.

An eclectic mix of tasters to be going on with:

Whilst Rebecca was doing her make-up in the mirror, these two rubber ducks caught my eye:

Richard stuck rigidly to the purple theme!

I used the down-lighters in the ceiling to light Rebecca in this one:

Richard & Rebecca asked for this shot so that they could use it for their Thank You cards, in keeping with the theme of their Save the Date and invites:

Wedding Photographer: St Helen's Church, Tarporley and Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, UK: Matt & Katy

Andy & Amy were the Wedding Photographers at St Helen’s Church, Tarporley and Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Matt & Katy.

Matt & Katy were married on Friday the 7th May at St Helen’s Church in the beautiful village of Tarporley, south Cheshire. Too often we are made to feel rather unwelcome as wedding photographers working in a Church but not at this wedding. A wonderfully friendly and welcoming vicar allowed us to work freely (not that we move around or use flash anyway) and as such, the ceremony shots are stunning.

Peckforton Castle was the perfect venue for the wedding reception and the weather was good enough for drinks and canapes to be enjoyed out on the lawn in the sunshine. The entire day had a really relaxed atmosphere and all of the guests seemed to have a lot of fun. Peter, a brilliant toastmaster, had everyone in stitches with his rhythmical organisational skills! I’ll get hold of his details and add them here.

The vicar was really funny! He ensured that Matt seemed pretty chilled out before Katy arrived:

Wedding photographer: Church of Ascension, Warrington & The Midland Hotel, Manchester, UK: Stuart & Jenny

December 8th, 6 comments

Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Church of Ascension, Warrington & The Midland Hotel, Manchester, UK for the wedding of Stuart & Jenny.

It’s not very often that I get to photograph the weddings of people that I know, not least people that I have known well all of my life. The 28th November was an exception though as Stuart and Jenny were married in Woolston, Warrington followed by a wonderful reception at The Midland Hotel in central Manchester. My parents and Jenny’s parents have been friends for life; Jenny’s Dad was Best Man for my Dad 34 years ago and they are Godparents for each others’ children.

A teeny bit more pressure this time to nail it then! We had to be pretty creative with our light sources as the natural light had almost gone as we arrived at The Midland Hotel at about three thirty. The Midland had just been decorated for Christmas and looked absolutely fantastic with two enormous trees in the lobby.

On with a few tasters:

Stuart.

The little Flower Girl behaved impeccably all day and posed for the camera whenever we went near to her – model material!

It was an absolute privilege to photograph Stuart and Jenny’s wedding being so close to Jenny’s family. Thanks for the opportunity and for a fabulous day. – Amy

Wedding photographer: Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, UK: Paul & Carly

October 10th, No comments

Andy & Amy were the wedding photographers at Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, UK for the wedding of Paul & Carly.

We’ve been the chosen photographers for quite a few weddings at Peckforton Castle in the past and we always enjoy returning there. Paul & Carly had a fabulous wedding on the 22nd September – unusually, a Tuesday. The day was full of surprises; Carly’s Dad dressed in a kilt in his traditional Welsh tartan – not even Mum knew about it! Paul had arranged for the rings to be delivered by a beautiful Canadian great-horned owl and, to keep guests entertained, there was a fabulous Birds of Prey display during the afternoon.

Paul helped get everyone else ready in the morning. Here he is helping his Father-in-Law-to-be into his surprise outfit.

I have my eyes closed in one of my favourite images of me on my wedding day. I hope Carly loves this one as much! I think it’s gorgeous.

The wedding breakfast was a hog-roast buffet – something that guests always enjoy. Andy claims that it was delicious. As a vegetarian I have to admit to keeping my distance!

A wonderful, fun day upon which the sun shone despite the forecast for rain. We travelled the day after Paul & Carly’s wedding for the wedding of Griff & Yasmine in Tuscany – images coming soon! – Amy.
