During my last trip to the UK I managed to squeeze in more Family Portrait sessions.
I had photographed little Luke and his Mum and Dad previously and so it was great to visit again; to capture how Luke had progressed and his current pick of favourite toys. Due to have a little sister come along in July, I look forward to photographing a family of four next time!
Luke’s 17 months on these images and is absolutely obsessed with his books. The Gruffalo is a particular favourite:

My daughter Chenin is now 13 months old. I don’t think a year has ever passed by so quickly. It only seems like last week when she was this tiny, helpless baby in arms who slept all of the time (well, through the day anyway!) Now, she is a walking, talking, hilarious little being, full of personality and showing signs of independence. How did that happen so quickly?
I have decided that you simply can’t take enough photos and little video clips of this incredible development. I thought I’d remember everything about this year – what Chenin was doing/weighing etc. at what age but I have soon forgotten or, if not forgotten, it’s certainly easy to muddle the details up.
Well, little Lola came along on the 19th of January and couldn’t have made parents Lucy & Richard any more proud (or tired!) They asked me to photograph her at just 11 days old and have asked that I continue to photograph her as she grows throughout her first year.

I was the photographer for Carl & Suzie’s incredible Barcelona wedding a few years ago, held at one of the most inaccessible and stunning places that I have ever visited, Sant Miquel del Fai. Since then not only has 15-month old Natalie come along but Suzie is expecting their second baby at the end of the month.

I was the photographer for Andrew & Fiona’s wonderful wedding back in September 2009. Since then beautiful little Edith has come along and I got to photograph her at just 17 weeks old.

I photographed a lovely family a few weeks ago – Gareth (Daddy), Andrea (Mummy) and Baby Isla. It was a really cold day but we got wrapped up and went out into the garden for a while. Isla was so placid and chilled out that I managed to get lots of lovely images in a very short time.

Daddy got smiles in the end! Isla was happy, content and chilled out but not so keen on smiling for the camera – lol!
Don’t you just want to grab those chunky cheeks and give ‘em a good old squeeze!
Having photographed mainly weddings for the last 6 years, I’m really starting to get into the Family Portraiture side of things. Equal to a wedding, moments in our childrens’ lives are one-offs or very short-lived and they must be captured. Only this week my daughter Chenin started blowing kisses – get the camera out quick!
