Amy was the wedding photographer at Lake Bolsena, Lazio, Italy at the Castello Di Santa Cristina, Grotte di Castro for Lee & Charlotte’s wedding.

Castello di Santa Cristina is an absolute gem of a wedding venue. Hidden away to the north of the peaceful Lake Bolsena, the exterior and surroundings of the castle are stunning but it was the interior that really captured my imagination. Rich colours, artifacts and wonderful decor including an ancient library and incredible tiled floors – I was in my element!

The weather behaved during aperativi and the sun shone but plans were changed to eat inside – a great idea as the heavens opened as the evening festivities began. Not to worry though, the room was as beautiful as all of the other rooms in the castle and the single, long, white-covered table was typically Italian & elegant.

Charlotte’s Grandparents have been together for over 70 years: the perfect role-models for marriage!

Back into that wonderful room, this time with the groom in tow.

We had time to pop down to the local town of Grotte di Castro, about 10 minutes from the Castle, for some photographs.

Lots of laughter and lots of tears during the speeches.

A lovely way to finish a wonderful day.
